This competitive energiser is useful to help participants embed learning. It is also useful as a test of the participant's knowledge on the training they have been participating in.
Use the link at the bottom of this page to download a set of instructions for the energiser, 'Car Chase', which also has images that you can print out for the energiser.
A set of questions relating to the course (some pre-prepared and some you make up during the training day).
Some masking tape.
Pictures of cars printed onto card (pictures provided in the pack available from the download link at the bottom of this page)
Take the masking tape and create a 'start' and 'finish' line on the floor with it. Then make a line from the start and finish point for each of the participants cars (you may put them in teams if there is not enough cars). You should then use the tape to create a 'crosshatch' pattern on the floor. There is an example of this in the energiser download at the bottom of this page.
- Advise the participants that they will be taking part in a 'race' to the finish line. You will be asking a series of questions and the team that answers a question correctly moves on one place in the race. If they answer incorrectly or do not have an answer they stay where they are and another team get the chance to answer. The winner is the team that reaches the finish line first.
- Ask questions relating to the training session, but also add in some questions relating to the people in the training i.e. What is Dave's job title? What car does Margaret drive? Etc.
This energiser provides an element of competition whilst testing participants knowlege and their retention of key training course facts.
