How to Achieve Your Goals During Self Study

Posted February 24th, 2017

It takes a lot of discipline to self-study, putting together the right schedule that fits your needs for both education and your work, home and social life. It isn’t impossible though and by putting in a few stringent steps you can reach your self-study goals.

Set Simple Goals – There is no point in setting unrealistic goals for your study time. It is important to create a simple framework that works alongside the rest of your life. It provides you with clear signposts to analyse your progress and allows you to feel achievement as you work through.

Test Out a Few Methods – One of the most important aspects of self-study is discovering exactly what works for you. This can include the time of day in which you work, where you work and how much and often you study. Everyone is different, but when you find something that works, stick with it.

Instant Review – If you have worked on something that day, don’t leave it too long to review your notes and study in more depth if required. Reviewing soon after first reading something makes for more effective long-term absorption of the facts at hand.

Create an Effective Study Space – Whether at home or out in the wild world it is important to create a study space for you. Create that space where you can thrive and work well.

Achieving your self-study goals is possible if you put in place a strong framework of learning that suits your needs.
