This energiser is useful to energise the team and get them working together. It is also useful to identify coaching skills and leadership qualities.

Tools:
A long piece of rope.
Blindfolds for each participant.
Instructions:
Ask one participant to act as ‘leader. The other participants are ‘staff’ and must all wear a blindfold. They will also be asked to hold the rope.
Explain that their task is to create a perfect square with the rope. However, they will be guided only by the communication skills of the leader.
The leader is not allowed to touch the ‘staff’ at any point.
Uses:
Best with groups of 8 or more, this activity demonstrates that participants are not always led as well as they could be and that communication between groups does not always lead to effective results.
