Intended for:
This free energiser helps gain commitment from participants at the end of a training course and uses peer pressure to develop some key actions that participants will take back to the workplace.
Training course contents:
A set of instructions for the energiser, ‘Commitment Circle’ can be downloaded for free from the link at the bottom of this page, or you can follow the notes below.
Instructions:
At the end of a training course, ask all participants to form a circle in the middle of the room. Participants will be facing into the circle where there is clear space.
Participants should take it in turns to enter the circle one at a time and explain what they will be held accountable for doing differently in the workplace following the training course.
They should hold eye contact with the other participants as they make this commitment and are not allowed to leave the circle until the other participants understand the commitment and agree that the person can leave.
Objectives:
This energiser helps ensure transfer of learning to the workplace, creates actions and ensures commitment to actions due to the public nature of the pledge.
