Equality and Diversity

Module 3 – Compliance – Equality Act 2010

  • Identify the different types of discrimination, harassment and victimisation that are regulated under the equality act and how it is applied
  • Review a series of case studies to help understand the act in more depth
  • An overview of the additional provisions under the act, including; dual discrimination, positive action, equal pay, pay secrecy, employments tribunals and the objective justification test
  • Understand what is meant by ‘making reasonable workplace adjustments for the disabled’ under the act with some clear examples​
Module 4 – Compliance – Ensuring Equality
  • Researching the basic principles of a workplace equality and diversity policy
  • Establishing what an organisation must do to ensure the equality and diversity policy works and is effective
  • Identifying personal responsibilities for equality and diversity in the workplace
  • Complete a series of case study questions to establish correct procedures for typical equality and diversity scenarios
  • Acknowledging how to raise concerns regarding discrimination in the workplace
  • Highlighting the best approach to handling grievances when they occur
Module 5 - Discrimination and Unconscious Bias
  • Understand how the law protects people with certain characteristics
  • Describe the ways discrimination can take place
  • Explore how unconscious bias works
  • Review an example of how unconscious bias could affect the recruitment process
  • Examine some examples of what can be done to counter unconscious bias.
Module 6 – Assessment and CPD certificate
