Intended for:
This simple and fun free icebreaker asks participants to represent themselves through their own design of an internet site. It helps them to focus on their personal skills, attributes and personality.
Training course contents:
A one page set of instructions in Word format for the icebreaker, ‘Google Me’ can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this page. Alternatively, you can follow the notes below.
Tools – sheets of flipchart paper and coloured pens.
Instructions – ask participants to develop a website ‘home’ page that best represents them. As with a normal website page, they will need to market themselves to their potential clients and include all relevant information to capture people’s imagination.
The page should contain pictures and text that best represent the skills, personality and knowledge of the website creator.
Once participants have all developed their website page, ask them to present it to the rest of the group.
Alternative uses – this method of delivery can also be used to test participants understanding of products and services. Once you have provided the information on a product or service, you can ask participants to develop a website to showcase it.
Video Instructions – here’s a video clip that explains the icebreaker too…
Objectives:
This icebreaker is useful to help participants get to know each other, understand their skills and break the ice.
