Explain to participants that a haiku is a major form of Japanese verse, written in 17 syllables divided into 3 lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, and employing highly evocative allusions and comparisons. Notice the syllables for each line; 5, 7, 5.
The task for the participants is to recap an element of the training course using a haiku poem structure.
Once everyone has spent some time writing the haiku, ask for everyone to read out their verse and discuss how they did.
