It is essential for any organisation that it keeps its information secure. At the same time that information needs to be readily available to the people who need to work with it or who have a legitimate right to access it.
This means having policies, procedures, controls and technical solutions in place to achieve this. It is also vital that everybody who works for an organisation understands that they have a key part to play in keeping information secure.
Most of the time this is simply a case of following policies, processes and procedures designed with security in mind. However, it is also expected that people be alert to any possible security risks and report them through the appropriate channels.
The purpose of this short information security training course is to remind participants of the risks faced if they do not keep information and systems secure. It is also to remind your participants about the responsibility that everyone has for information security and to provide some examples of what this means in practice.
Objectives:
At this end of this 1 hour, ‘Information Security Casebook’ training course your participants will be able to:
- Identify the main risks that occur when the security of information is compromised
- Recognise their personal responsibility for the security of information and what this means in practical terms
