Intended for:
Use this free training game as a method of gaining an insight into participants thoughts on the training topic you are working on and allow you the opportunity to resolve any ‘hidden’ issues.
Training course contents:
A one sheet set of instructions on the training game, ‘Oh, My Word’ can be downloaded for free from the link at the bottom of this page. Alternatively, you can follow the notes below.
Tools – a set of post-it notes and a dictionary.
Ask the participants to write one word on a post-it note that reflects their current feelings towards the training topic that you are currently working on.
They should place this post-it note on a flipchart at the front of the room. Select one of the words from the flipchart and look it up in the dictionary.
Read out the complete definition of the word and then explore with the entire team the relevance of that word to the session and what the emotion might be behind the word.
Where possible, provide further insight that will allow the raised issue to be resolved or at least given time to air. Follow the same approach above for each of the words.
Caution: this exercise should be used in an environment where you can ensure that feedback will be constructive.
Objectives:
Use this training game to highlight and resolve ‘hidden’ issues and open discussion.
