Intended for:
Use this free energiser to help consolidate a learning event in a positive way.
Training course contents:
You can download this short energiser exercise from the link at the bottom of this page, or follow the notes below. The energiser is used to help participants consider a selected key point in a learning event and then explain why they felt it was key.
Purpose – this is an energiser to help consolidate key learning points at the end of a course and you can use it whenever you have displayed a number of relevant peripherals (posters) around the training room wall.
Instructions – before your training starts, prime the training environment by attaching a number of relevant posters to the training room wall using bluetac or similar. Remove any that are already there, if they are not relevant.
We often print our power point slides and use them as posters. We also advise that you add to the wall any flipchart work conducted during the training itself.
Explain to participants that we will close the course with a poster grab. They are to walk around the room looking at all of the posters and during that time you will play some lively music (no more than 5 minutes).
When you stop the music they grab their favourite poster and return to their seat. Don’t let them grab any posters until the music stops, and make sure they keep on the move while it is playing. If somebody beats a participant to their favourite poster they should select their next favourite.
When everyone has returned to their seats ask them in turn to read or summarise the information on their poster and explain why they chose it.
This exercise summarise key points and also helps delegates to place their own interpretation on those points.
Objectives:
Use this energiser to consolidate learning from a session.
