This free icebreaker is useful for enticing different questions out of participants and ensuring the introductions a varied and informative. It’s also good for people with a sweet tooth!
Training course contents:
A set of instructions for the icebreaker, ‘Smarties Have the Answer’ can be downloaded for free from the link at the bottom of this page, or you can follow the notes below.
Resources Needed – a packet of Smarties sweets.
Instructions – hand out a bowl of Smarties to each participant and ask them to take a random number of the sweets (no more than 4 each is preferred due to time).
Once every participant has collected their Smarties, advise them that the colour of their Smarties represent a different kind of question, which they will have to answer when they introduce themselves.
For instance; Blue = Favourite film, Yellow = Favourite sport, Purple = Interesting family fact etc.
Of course you could adapt the questions to relate to the training session as well, which we find works well.
Objectives:
We love any icebreaker that involves tucking into sweets here at Trainer Bubble, but this icebreaker also provides a great opportunity to get the response to questions that might not normally be raised.
