This free icebreaker is a twist on the ‘What do I want to get out of the session’ introductions that are typical of training course icebreakers. It is useful to get participants involved in the session and to think about things they might not usually consider.
A set of instructions for the icebreaker, ‘Stop It’ can be downloaded for free from the link at the bottom of this page, or you can follow the notes below.
Ask participants to introduce themselves in the normal way. However, you will also ask them to consider something that they hope attending the training course will help them STOP doing.
Examples have been…
- After attending this course I hope I can stop focusing on the things that don’t matter and wasting energy on them.
- After attending this course I hope I can stop delegating ineffectively and causing issues for my team.
- After attending the course I hope I can stop taking on too much work from my manager.
- After attending the course I hope I can stop making errors in my budget spread sheets based on my lack of knowledge
Use this icebreaker to introduce participants and to help them consider what they want to stop doing after the training course.
