Training course contents:
A set of instructions for the training energiser, ‘String a Ring’ can be downloaded for free from the link at the bottom of this page, or you can follow the notes below.
Tools:
A piece of string tied in a circle with a ring threaded through it.
Instructions:
Before the game begins a ring is threaded through the string and the string is tied together at the ends.
Participants sit on chairs in one large circle in the room. One person stands in the middle of the circle. The participants hold the loop of string.
The person in the middle must guess who is holding the ring by the facial gestures, body language etc.
As the game progresses, the participants in the circle slide the ring between them, covered by their hands so that the person in the middle can’t find it. If the person in the middle guesses correctly, then they change places with the person who had the ring.
In review, hold a discussion about the techniques each person used to identify who was holding the ring and whether or not they were effective.
Objectives:
This energiser helps to identify methods of spotting subtle body language movements or reading communication styles.
