Virtual Training

Virtual Training Materials – These materials have been adapted from the corresponding classroom course materials that you will also find on our website. However, we have changed the structure and content so that it better suits delivery in a virtual environment such as a video conference call, which helps with training of remote workers. This means no major alteration to the content, but the structure and method of delivery will have altered.

Intended for:

These ‘Virtual Trainer’ virtual training course materials have been developed for participants that need to design and deliver any form of virtual learning event. They may already have experience of delivering classroom training and need to convert these skills to online sessions, or they may be new to the entire process and want to ensure they are performing effectively when delivering online training.

The training course content itself allows participants to identify different methodologies and gather ideas for making their virtual training interactive and engaging. There are lots of tips and advice in the course materials and participants are also given the chance to practice their skills.

Training course contents:

It’s not unusual these days to have employees that are based at home, or even scattered around the world, which has meant that we have had to adapt the way we work. In particular, we have embraced new technologies that allow us to communicate remotely and stay in touch with colleagues and clients.

A natural progression to this way of working is the delivery of content to help develop employees and clients via virtual learning. Although not necessarily new, communication technology has now become much more advanced and allows us to provide extremely effective learning online. This can come in the form of workshops, webinars and one to one coaching initiatives.

These virtual training course materials have been designed with the intention of ensuring your participants are effectively equipped to provide online training that is interactive and engaging. It’s aim is to give participants the tools and techniques required to both design and deliver training that will be well received by their participants.

Why is running this virtual trainer course a good idea?

Well, just imagine if your participants were better able to:

  • Appreciate what good online training looks like and design their own virtual training to meet this need
  • Understand the learning needs of their participants and include this in their virtual learning approach
  • Effectively plan their learning intervention and identify the best platform and method to get a positive outcome from the learning
  • Understand the facilitation skills required to ensure we deliver the best online training event possible
  • Create and deliver engaging and interactive virtual learning events that get results
  • Appreciate the different roles and responsibilities online learning requires to ensure success

The main content of the training course materials…

What does good look like? – An exploration of both good and bad virtual training sessions, the difference to ‘face to face’ training and what skills and techniques are required to perform effectively as a virtual trainer.

An overview of effective learning  – A review of different learning modes that should be included to ensure a thorough approach to learning. Using the KOLB learning cycle to provide a structure to making your learning engaging. Understanding the tools available to you when delivering online learning and how to make the best use of them.

Module 2

Setting yourself up for success – Ensuring you set up your equipment properly prior to a virtual session. Ensuring your environment is right and you are ready for the session on a personal level. Considering the best virtual platform to deliver the type of event you want to.

How do I show up? – Considering your own facilitation approach and your ability to maintain interest during a virtually session. Understanding what needs to be done differently to a face to face session to ensure success.
