Intended for:
This free icebreaker helps provide participants with the opportunity to explore their thoughts on the given training topic by creative means. It also allows them to relax into the topic in a stress-free way.
Training course contents:
A set of instructions for the icebreaker, ‘Topic Posters’ can be downloaded for free from the link at the bottom of this page, or you can follow the notes below.
Resources Needed – flipchart paper, coloured pens and perhaps post-it notes and other craft items.
Instructions –right at the start of the training session, participants are provided with flipchart paper and some pens and are asked to create their own poster based on the training topic. This could be a visual description of what the topic means to them, a good/bad list or even an expected outcomes visualisation.
The posters can contain words, pictures, illustrations, cartoons, diagrams, charts and anything that helps them get their message across.
If you want to include introductions into this activity you can pair groups up to work on posters together or to review each person’s poster.
Objectives:
This icebreaker provides a visual reference point to discuss the thoughts and concerns of participants. It also introduces them gently to the training topic.
