Intended for:
This free energiser encourages participants to share learning and develop a culture of sharing, whilst helping to embed learning.
Training course contents:
A set of instructions for the training energiser, ‘Train it Forward’ can be downloaded for free from the link at the bottom of this page, or you can follow the notes below.
Instructions – at the end of a training session, ask each participant to provide you with their one key learnt fact that they will take away with them. Ask them to write this down as you will ask them to commit to one key action based on that fact.
Once you have a key fact from every participant. Advise them that you would like them to commit to share this key fact with three other people within their team or the company. However, when they pass this fact on to the three people, they must also gain the commitment from these people that they also will pass that fact on to three other people and actually they will not share the information until the person has given that commitment. These three people must do the same ad infinitum.
The task will only be deemed complete when you, the original sender of the message, hear the message back from an alternative source.
Typical uses – this energiser is great when you want to get your message out to the maximum number of people with the least amount of effort.
If you also work within the company, you can offer an added incentive of a prize to the first person whose fact is told to you by a person not in the training.
Objectives:
This energiser acts as a great way to bring a training session to a close and ensure that information is recalled and shared after the training.
