Intended for:
This free energiser is useful where you want to explore the leadership values of participants and discuss what really lies behind the values words that they create. For instance, it is easy to say that you want to show integrity and be honest with your team, but what does this mean in the real world?
Training course contents:
A set of instructions for the free energiser, ‘True Values’ can be downloaded for free from the link at the bottom of this page, or you can follow the notes below.
Please note: You will need the values document that is available for free from the download at the bottom of this page to run this energiser.
Ask participants to write down a list of ‘values’ words that they feel are important for a leader to have. If you can provide values as designated by the organisation they work for, then even better.
Once everyone has filled in the ‘values’ column on the document, place them into small groups, or pairs and ask them to discuss what these values mean when we convert them to leadership behaviours. i.e. what do they mean we have to do and be in the workplace?
In review, discuss the outputs from each of the sessions and challenge the thinking behind each of the participants suggested behaviours.
Example ‘Values’ – Integrity, Honesty, Respect, Caring, Trustworthy, Open, Challenging, Positive, Accountable, Direct, Approachable.
Objectives:
This energiser will help develop basic values into true leadership behaviours.
