Intended for:
This free energiser can be used in any training course or meeting where participants need to resolve work issues or problems.
The benefit of this energiser is that it gives participants a sense of achievement and helps them physically see that they are resolving issues.
Training course contents:
A set of instructions for the free energiser, ‘Wall of fame’ can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this page. You can also follow the notes for the energiser below.
Resources Needed:
Different shaped pieces of card or paper in various colours.
Spray Glue, Blu-Tac or Tape.
Instructions:
Advise participants that the wall to the left of them is the wall of pain and the wall to the right is the wall of fame.
Then ask them to carry out an activity where they write down on coloured stars/circles/squares and other shapes all the issues that they currently face surrounding the topic being discussed or a topic that is important to them.
These issues are then placed on the wall of pain using spray glue/tape/blu-tac. The aim is to move the issues from the wall of pain to the wall of fame. This can only be done by problem solving the issues.
The issues are selected from the wall in turn by each participant and brought to the centre for solving. If the issue is not resolved by the end of the activity, it returns to the wall of pain.
This process works best when it is played out throughout a day and issues are only selected occasionally. Perhaps even combined with a quiz where participants can be ‘rewarded’ for answering a question by being able to review their wall of pain item.
Objectives:
This free energiser is a useful problem solving activity and helps participants to feel a sense of overcoming issues and resolving problems. It’s a very visual way of demonstrating resolution to issues.
