Intended for:
Use as a way of getting a group to know each other. The free icebreaker can also be used for teams that already know each other, but might want to find out more.
Training course contents:
A one page instruction sheet for the icebreaker, ‘Well I never!’ can be downloaded for free from the link at the bottom of this page, or you can follow the notes below.
Instructions – ask participants to sit in a large circle and hold up ten fingers.
Go around the circle one at a time, each person announces something that they have never done, beginning the sentence with the phrase “I have never…”
For example, a person could say, “I have never taken a sick day from work when I had a hangover.”
Each time a statement is made that a person in the group has done, they must drop a finger. So, if two other people have taken a sick day from work when they had a hangover in the past, those three people must put down a finger, leaving them with nine fingers.
The goal is to stay in the game the longest (to be the last person with fingers remaining).
Objectives:
This icebreaker assists participants in finding more out about each other in a fun way.
