Intended for:
This free energiser is useful to help participants embed the learning from a session or to help them remember key facts and information. The energiser is also quite useful for focusing on listening skills or thinking quickly.
Training course contents:
A set of instructions for the training energiser, ‘Wrong Answer’ can be downloaded for free from the link at the bottom of this page, or you can follow the notes below.
The energiser starts with the trainer asking a participant a question based on the training topic. The participant must provide an answer that is not correct, but relates to the training in some way.
Another participant must then jump in with a question to support the previous answer given. This must in turn be answered with an incorrect answer that relates to the training in some way.
This pattern must be followed until all participants have provided a question and answer. If the group are really clever they can link the final answer to the original question!
Example: Trainer:
What is the capital of France?
Participant 1: Germany
Participant 2: Which country has red, black and gold in their flag?
Participant 3: Australia
Participant 4: Which country is home to the Kangaroo?
Participant 5: London
Participant 6: Where is Buckingham Palace?
Participant 7: United States of America
Participant 8: What city is home to Central Park?
Participant 9: Paris
Objectives:
This energiser can be a little confusing, but when used correctly really can help to embed learning. It is really important that you review the energiser at the end and discuss the answers given. There may be some mistakes that are legitimate and some where you need to emphasise the learning.
It should be emphasised that this is for fun rather than anything else, as it can become frustrating!
